Oden

Today's my dinner was my favorite food! It is Oden(おでん). It is food that Japanese people eat in winter season. When we cook it, we use a lot of ingredients. For example, we use Daikon (Japanese white radish), shirataki (like a noodle), chikuwa (a tube-shaped fish paste cake), beef, and many so on.

Ingredients are not same every families. In my family, we sometimes use horsemeat instead of beef. The horsemeat is very good like the beef.

In Oden’s ingredients, I like Daikon very much!! At my today’s dinner, I ate it about 4~5!! It was very good.

Recently, we can eat Oden light heartedly, because it is sold in a lot of convenience stores. If you want to eat Oden suddenly, you can buy it at convenience store like a Lowson. Its price are 70~150yen (maybe).

Though I can eat Oden whenever I want to it because of convenience store, I prefer my home’s Oden to convenience’s one.

Excel class

I have a class of Microsoft Office Specialist 4times a week. I’m taking Excel class. After I have finished university's class, I learn it. The class has 3hours. It starts 6 pm, and its end is 9 pm, so I always very sleepy during the class.

MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) has various parts, for example, Word specialist and expert, Excel specialist and expert, and Power Point. I have passed a test of Word Specialist by last summer vacation. It was a little difficult for me to understand how to use Word. It has a lot of functions, so I had to remember the way of use. At the test, I missed only one question, therefore I couldn’t get perfect result. I was sad, because I have expected to get perfect!! I believed that I can, because I have studied hard.

Until I start Excel class, I thought I’ll get perfect at test of Excel specialist, but now, I don’t have confidence. I think that Excel is more difficult than Word. I can’t remember how to use Excel.

But, I have to take the test on 10/11. So I should study hard. I want perfect result of Excel for my job hunting!

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday has no class, so I will study by myself in my home.

I bought a parasol at you-me town in Hikari-no-mori. The parasol was reasonable. It was 1980 yen. Though it is reasonable, it has some good points!!

First, the design is good. The color is black with small flower paint. It has not only black, but also has white lace, so it is cute.

Next, the parasol has special cloth. The cloth can cut 99 % of ultraviolet rays.　It is same materials with fireman’s clothes, so it is high quality.

But the high quality material has a week point. It looks a little but, because of the color is silver. I think that the look is not cute. I want the materials’ look to improve more cute design.

Although the parasol has a bad point, I use it everyday. It has me take a comfortable walk. It is very useful goods for summer. If you always walk in the daytime, please use it for protect your skin. [157/6132]

hard days

I’m very sleepy and tired now, because I had a lot of assignment so I couldn’t sleep well.
I have written some report since yesterday. I went to Jiyu kukan (a internet cafe) with my boyfriend and I wrote report without reading some comic books! It was very hard to can’t read comic book, because I had a lot of comic which I want to read. My boyfriend read Hagaren in front of me!! I was angry with him. [79]

Medical problem

I’ll write about serious topic today. I often discuss serious social topic because my boyfriend like to discuss them. I will write one of them in this post.

My boyfriend is pharmacist.
He is very noisy about medical problems.
He says…

Japanese insurance need be used for Japanese medical. Money for medical help for patient’s family members to release ‘care person’, and a hospital will be able to employ many medical staffs.
Generally speaking, a patient brings the family inconvenient life and very expensive medical expenses.
If the family takes care of the patient in home, the family will feel inconvenient life.
And one of the family members is given responsibility.
If the medical staff cares the patient in hospital, the family will take very expensive medical expense.

And the family pays much money for the family member.
When we hope to solve two things at the same time, Japanese insurance is very important. Japan should stop to waste the money, and change to use insurance. Japan can help many families.

Subsidiary, the hospitals employ many medical staff.
The medical staff uses much money in the local area. The money can fill over the society.
As a result, many people in local area make much money.
And he always speech “Japanese insurance is good system, but Japan is high tax and low welfare. It is very very sad story.”


It is difficult for me to understand for certain his ideas. But I think that taking care of a patient will have a lot of troubles. It will take expensive costs just he said.

However, my opinion is the opposite. I think that we shouldn’t depend on insurance.
In our time, I don’t have the full confidence of various Japanese systems. Probably, a lot of people have same opinion. We always hear injustice of company and government system on TV programs or newspaper. So, I can’t confidence in them. I think that I should care of me by myself.

Of course, insurance is very important for our life, but, we shouldn’t too depend on it.

The old man Z

Do you know The old man Z (roujin Z)?
It is a cartoon film. I watched it yesterday, because my boyfriend recommended it for me. He said ‘It’s very interesting movie! You should it!’

However, I don’t think that the story is so interesting. It is a little sad and painful story, I think. It is difficult for me to explain the content of story for you, so, please watch it, if you are interested in. There is DVD at TUTAYA. [81/5514]

McDonald's

I love hamburger! Especially, I like McDonald’s food. I eat it about twice a week. I always order “value set”. It has main hamburger, fried potato and drink. You can choose hamburger and drink that you want in “value set”. I often eat shrimp-hamburger and “Quarter-Pond Deluxe”.

“Quarter-Pond Deluxe” is limited the area that I can buy it. The limited area is Kumamoto prefecture. I live in Kumamoto Prefecture now, so I can eat it whenever I want to eat. It is bigger than the other and has a lot of vegetables.

When I’m a bit hungry, value set is too much. So I order “snack pair”. It is very reasonable, it cost only150 yen!! And it has about four pair menu (I forget exactly menus). I always eat hamburger pair. It is normal hamburger and coffee set.

But snack pair is sold only after 14:00. The time is called “snack-time”. When you want to eat it, you should go to McDonald’s after 14:00.

I like hamburger, but, recently, I think that I should reduce the number of times of eat it, because it seems that McDonald’s food has a lot of fat. If I continue to eat it, I will more fat in the future. I want to change the number of times of eat from twice a week into twice a month.

Do you read newspaper everyday? Recently, I always read it every morning. I bought YOMIURI SHIMBUN.

I think that newspaper has a lot of information, and they are very important for our life.

Certainly, it requires a lot of time to read all articles. Of course, I haven’t enough time to read all, so I read only head line. I can understand the content of information only headline. If I find interest articles, I read the whole passage.

my e-mail adress

I want to change my e-mail address, because I am tired of present my e-mail address.

I have used it since I was high school student. So, I have used for 5 years.

And I have another reason. Recently, a lot of spam mails come in my mail box. I’m very disgusted with them.

I want to change it, but I can’t change it right now, because it is trouble for me to tell a new e-mail address for a lot of people.

And I can’t hit on a nice address. I want to make simple and cool new address. If you have good ideas, please let me knowJ [110/5104]

agar!

Recently, I eat agar everyday. Do you know agar? It is called Kanten(寒天) in Japanese.

It has a lot of dietary fibers and moreover, it is a low-calories food. So it was often eaten as diet food.

I eat it for a diet, and of course, I love agar. I have loved it since I was child, because it is my memorial food.

My grandmother often made sweets made of agar and milk. It was agar of milk (Gyunyu-kanten). It was so good, I loved my grandmother’s it.

Now, I’m adult, so I can make it by myself. It is very easy to cook agar of milk. So, I’m going to introduce the recipe.

First, you should prepare agar (250~400yen), milk (150~300yen/1000ml), sugar and fruit (If you want add in it)

Next, you have to boil water (300ml) with milk (300ml), sugar in a same stew pan.

After all materials have mixed and melt, you can move it in mold. Then, you can add some fruits, if you want to eat. And keep it in a refrigerator until it gets cold.

After 2~3 hours later, you can eat so good agar of milk. If you didn’t add sugar, it is low-calories.

I make only water agar sometimes, it is very low-calories. But it is not good so much, I ate it with syrup. If you hate milk, please try to make non-milk agar.

I bought a book!

I bought a book at maruzen. It is No Longer Human(人間失格 Ningen Shikkaku).

This book is Japanese novel by Osamu Dazai. It published in 1948, so old novel for me.

I have wanted to read this book, so I can’t help buying it, when I found it.

And only now, the cover is special. It is so cool.

Okinawa

I want to travel around Japan. Especially, I want to go Okinawa now. Most of friends have been to Okinawa by school trip, but I couldn’t go Okinawa, because of 9.11.
If I can go Okinawa, first, I want to eat Okinawa’s foods. There are a lot of wonderful foods, I watched on TV. I want to go famous tacos restaurant, located Kokusai street.

Next, I want to swim at Okinawa. I think that Okinawa's beach is beautiful! [79]

I took part in mixi yesterday. Do you know mixi? It is web site that people can communication with internet.
People can’t use this site without friend’s invite.

But, now, I have a problem. I have received spam mail since I used mixy. During I sleep, a lot of spam mail came my e-mail address. I’m very angry now! [47]

Introduction

New strap!

My friend gave me a nice strap! It is panda strap, and the panda is one of the heroes.

We have a panda strap of different color. I have a blue panda, and Momoka has yellow, Anna has pink, and Chinami has red.　Incidentally, red is a leader of heroes.

Every panda is very cute. I want other panda goods!! [60]

Hirai Party -drinking and eating-

After shopping, we went to Kitchen Ku to eat dinner. We can eat and drink all for 2625 Yen!! Most of food was very good. We ate salad, pasta, chicken, fish and many so on. Especially, I think that pasta and chicken were very good. And cocktail were good too. I like drinking!!

Because of food and drink were good, I ate too much!! I want to go there again. [70/4472]

Hirai Party -shopping-

After bowling, we went to shopping. There were small and nice shops at downtown of Kumamoto. I wanted pierced earrings, but I did self-control because I want to buy new clothes.

After all, I bought a strap, handkerchief and two clothes. I could get very nice clothes for summer! I’m very happy now. [53]

Essay 6 [My favorite movie]

I like to watch movies. I often go the theater to watch new movie, but I always watch movie at my home, on TV or DVD.

I have a lot of favorite movies, for example, Armageddon, Titanic, and Transformer. All movies are very nice story, so I want you to watch them.

But, I want to introduce a cartoon film now. It is “Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind (1984/3/11)” I think that probably, most of Japanese people have watched this movie. It is very famous around of Japan

This film directed by Hayao Miyazaki, and released on 1984 in Japan. When the film released, I wasn’t born in this world, because I was born 1987 and I’m 21 years old. So, this film has been enjoyed for more than 20 years. On the other day, it was broadcasted on TV.

Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind has a lot of serious story, for example, coexistence with nature, and criticism of war. The first time when I watched this movie, I was child. So I couldn’t understand problem of environment, and war. So I just enjoyed this story as a one of cartoon films. And now, I became an adult. I can understand this story more deeply. It is described as our future in this movie. I think that this movie warns our human of some problems and people should discover the important things by watching this movie.

I like other movies by Hayao Miyazaki. I like My Neighbor Totoro(となりのトトロ), Princess Mononoke(もののけ姫) and many so on.

There are a lot of wonderful movies in directed by Hayao Miyazaki. Please watch Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind, and other movie. [293]

Hirai Party!! -bowling-

I held Hirai Party with my friends yesterday.

First, we went to a bowling alley. It was located downtown of Kumamoto.

I was very poor player!! I couldn’t throw straight a ball. But I wasn’t sad, because friends were same skills with me.

We enjoyed taking pictures and movies, of course, bowling too. I want to go bowling again!! [59]

Book Review 1-11[Pussy and the birds]

I read this book, because a cat appears in this story, so I love cat!

A cat named Pussy had its eye on birds, because she was hungry. But she couldn't catch the birds. The birds chirped "Naughty Pussy!"

After all, Pussy go back home and given food by owner.

I think that cat and birds are very cute, and I imagined that Pussy and birds are good friends.　[69]

Part time joｂ

I have had a part time job since I’m 19 year, so I have worked for about 2 years.

In the old days, I worked 5 days a week. It was very hard to work 5 days a week after school. But I have continued it.

Recently, I reduced the number of times, because I want to study. But I don’t have enough time to study now. I should study hard. [74]

I ate a very nice tofu (bean curd) at dinner yesterday!

The tofu named 'hadsome tofu'. The tofu is being sold serially. All series are

very nice and funny tofu. Handsome was drawn on the package. All men are

very cool! On yesterday, I only took picture the tofu, so next time, when I eat

I found good cafe!!

I went to Kumagoro (a name of bear character) cafe with my boyfriend on lunch time. It is located on Nisihara.

Kumagoro café has only 18 seats, so it was small cafe. There were photos of Kumagoro in the inside of a café, it was so cute.

I ordered today’s special. Its main was a hamburger steak with cheese, and it was very good! It became one of my favorite menus. The today’s special had hamburger steak, rice, salad, pasta, miso soup and orange juice. I satisfied with them. Price was not expensive, so if you have 1000 yen, you can eat lunch.

Nishihara has a lot of nice restaurants, like Kumagoro café. Please go to Nishihara, and eat Kumagoro’s good menus. [122]

Book Review1-10 [The Lost Puppy]

I read this book, because it was new book in library.

Sniff is puppy, and he played with his owner and children. Suddenly, he ran off and lost.
Owner and children looked for sniff, but they couldn't find sniff. A yellow dog, Floppy looked for something, and the dog found sniff. Everyone praised Floppy, “What a clever dog!"
But Floppy just looked for his bone, because Sniff had taken the bone.

I think that it is interesting story, and two dogs very cute. Especially, Floppy just looked for his bone. He is very funny, I think. Please try to read this story. [102]

Essay 5 [The worst day in your life]

The worst day in your life

It was really bad day in my life. It was 5 years ago, and I was 16years old.

In those days, I had favorite musician, it was ‘w-inds.’.　w-inds. was not so much as a musician as an idol. It has 3 members in the group, and I like them because every member was so cool. I had loved them since I was junior high school student.

My bad day is related to w-inds. . 5years ago the day, I had a very important things. It was concert of w-inds. . In order to go the concert, I had had a lot of part time job to earn money. Because of going to the concert requires a lot of money, I should have worked very hard.

I could prepare enough money to go the concert, but it was happened. The day before the concert, a stomachache attacked me! It was not common stomachache, it was severe pain. I went to hospital, and the pain was come from gastroenteritis. I had fever and severe pain.

On the important day, I couldn’t stand up, because of my illness. I had still had a fever and pain. I couldn’t go to the concert as a matter of course. I was very sad, I shed tears.

I passed the day crying.

Because I couldn’t go to the concert, I wasted my ticket, so, money. Though I had worked very hard for the concert, all my efforts came to nothing.

It is the worst day in my life, but I think that it is not serious, now. I was really child then. It is my bad day memory, but, on the other hand, it is also shameful memory, now. [290/3562]

I bought the text book, but I don't study hard. Their question is not difficult, but I can't understand the contents.

I like reading free paper.

When I find a free paper at town or my university, I take it and read.
Especially, I love Hot pepper. It has a lot of information. I always use it, when I want to chose nice restaurant. It is very useful!

Book Review 1-09 [At the Pool]

I read this book, because it is new book in library.　The illustration is very cute, so I enjoyed reading it.

A boy, named　Kipper went to a swimming pool with his friends and friend’s mother. At the locker room, he couldn’t find his swimming trunks, so he couldn’t swim. Then, friend’s mother bought him new trunks.

At the locker room again, he found his trunks! He was wearing it, and he had forgotten the things.

I think that Kipper is very cute boy! I like this story. It is very easy to read, so you can read a few minute! Please try to read. [105]

New model!

I changed my PHS with a new model today. It is very cool design. But, to tell the truth, I want more vivid color design model. The new model has only 3 color (blue, black, white), I bought blue, and my boyfriend bought black. So, we bought same design.

I bought a new sandal at Hikari-no-mori!! There were a lot of kind of sandal, pumps and other shoes. Then I wanted both of sandal and pumps. Though I found nice sandal, I couldn’t find nice pumps. So I bought only sandal.

One day, a red school bus had engine trouble, and didn’t move. But a man fixed it, and changes the bus into caravan. The man’s family helps him to make it. Finally, the family enjoyed traveling by the caravan. [50]

Book Review1-07 [The flood]

I read the flood, because it is new book in library.

A summary is simple. One day, it rained heavily, and a lot of water attacked a house.
The resident took refuge at the second floor of the house, but they didn’t have any food, and drinking water. Then, a boat came to help them. So, the family could refuge.

When I was child, I often imagined a lot of water into my house. I thought that I can swim in the house, and it must be fun, if happen such a thing.

However, in actually, it is impossible! It must be serious things like this story.

This story was interesting for me, because it reminds of me my funny memory.[125]

I made pasta for my lunch. There were tomato, onion, and bacon in my home. So I made my ordinal pasta.

New socks!

I bought funny new socks!! This design is very cute.

I bought it at shop, Ree. There are a lot of clothes, accessories, and socks. There are a lot of funny designs of socks. I wanted to buy another design, but I couldn't buy, because I didn't have money.

New hairstyle

I had my hair keep straight, and cut at shop.

My hair was always frizzy hair, so I don't like the unmanageable hair. So I decided to go to shop.
It took me about 4hours, so it was very hard to keep sit down.

And it was 12600yen. It was very expensive for me, but I had patience to get beautiful straight hairstyle.　[63]

I got new pierced earrings yesterday!
I liked it at a glance. It is very cute, and very cheap!! It was 315 yen.

Essay 4 [A memorable day in your life]

I don’t have any memorable day except my birthday. So, for the present my memorable day is my birthday!

My birthday is 5/23. So it is tomorrow (today is 5/22/08). I become 21 years old this year. My boyfriend will celebrate my birthday tomorrow. We will have a good dinner, so I’m looking forward to seeing him.

The last my birthday, it was bad day. He forgot my birthday. I got angry at him, and I was very sad. So I’m going to have a lot of fun at this year birthday.

In my child food, my family held a birthday party for me. My mother made a special dinner, and gave a nice present. I ate good strawberry shortcake. I still love strawberry shortcake, because it was served on my birthday party. My father took picture of birthday party. The picture reminds me of the birthday party. It was precious time. It was a very happy time.

However, my family doesn’t give me present now, only a birthday cake. Sometimes there is no cake. I’m sad, when such a thing happen. But I have to patience, because I’m adult.

In spite of my family, my boyfriend and friends give a lot of happiness on my birthday!

My friends gave me nice present. It was pierced earring, pouch, and clothes. A friend gave me a cute alarm clock, because I always overslept and late getting to the class. I will use it to wake up early.

I ate cheese steamed bun yesterday. I love it, it is very good.

I read this book, Tom is brave.

I choused this book, because it is new book in the library.

The boy goes on errands, but on the way, he fell down and he was injured his legs.

He howled and go back home, then his mother gave him a medical treatment.

After that, he runs on errand, and he proud of his the injury.

It was not interesting for me, because story is too simplicity.

But it is a good book, in light of it is very easy to read.

I read this book, Brave Father Mouse.

This story is very short, so it was not entirely satisfactory for me.
A father mouse that appears in this story is very cute mouse, but in actuality, I hate mouse. If a mouse appears in my house as this story, I will catch it.

And I thought that father mouse and father (human being) are same life.
A father mouse takes risk to get food for children. My father works for my family.

I went to Tos outlet store with my boyfriend. We went there by car,and used a superhighway.

Essay 3 [my favorite animals]

I like a lot of animals, so I like to go to zoo. There are various kinds of animals, especially; I like giraffe, lion, and white bear.

Giraffe has a very long neck, it is very wonderful! I want a long neck like giraffe’s nice neck. Lion is so cool! The lion is called the king of beasts, and I think so. If I were attacked by the lion, I couldn't escape from fearful. But a lion that live in zoo is mostly spiritless. When I go zoo, they sleep well. It is not exciting. White bear is very big, but very cute animal! They can swim well in spite of they have big body. I want to see the white bear that live in Asahiyama zoo. The white bear is very popular in Japan. I want to go there!

I like animals of zoo, but it is not my best. My best favorite animal is cat. A cat doesn’t live in zoo, but they mostly live in our home as a pet. I can see them various places, my grandfathers home, my university and park. I don’t have pet in my home, of course I don’t have cat. When I want to see cat, I always access Youtube (a website of movies).

Youtube is very famous website of movies in the entire world. It has a lot of movies of wonderful cat. I can see a lot of type of cat in this website. For example, it has movies of a cute kitty, funny cat and beautiful cat. It is very fun.

I want to keep cat in my home someday. If I have cat, I want to sleep with cat in my bed, play with toys and do a lot of things! [294/1878]

Today, I got rilakkuma-mug. In order to I get it, I always went to shopping to Lawson, because in order to get it, I should get point seal of rilakkuma. When I bought something in the Lawson, I could get the point seal. I wasted a little money for this rilakkuma-mug.

I read this book, FLYING HOME.

This yellow bird is very cute, and he is a lucky bird.
He was a pet at one home in New York, but he went to back his home in Brazil. It is hard days for him.

Then I was very nervous, because I had to drive to get temporary license.

I live in Kumamoto Prefecture.
Kumamoto Prefecture has famous castle, it is Kumamoto castle.

I have visited there a few times, but I really want to visit again now.
That is why Kumamoto castle is 400 years old, this year.

A man who appears in this story is funny man.
He did the best, because he want woman to love him.

I made a banana cake the day before yesterday, because there were a lot of ripe banana in my home.

First, I researched recipe with Internet. I could find a lot of recipe, and I chose best easy recipe. I mixed all ingredients, and baked it. It was very easy!

Essay 2 [Description of your treasure]

I will introduce my treasure in this essay.
It is various photos. Photo has not only picture but also have memories and story.
I always enjoy them.

In my home, there are a lot of photos.
First, for example, there are photos of when my mother and father child, when I was a baby, and many so on.

Such photos tell me about state in those days. When my parents were child, I was not born, of course. However, I can know my parent’s childhood by seeing that photos. It was very fun. When I saw a photo which my grandmother was child, somehow I was moved.

It can be centering of topic on my family. When we saw such photos, we enjoy talk about them. It is very precious time for me.

Second, I have a lot of photos of my trip. When I go on trip, I always take pictures, because I like taking picture and I want to leave the moment. On my trip, I always meet good things, so I want to leave them in photos. I have taken a lot of photos of　tourist resort in Kyusyu since I had entered in KGU(my university). I want to increase such photos.

And I take a photo not only trip but also daily life. For example, I often take photo of plant, sky, view and moving view.　Especially, I love photo of sky, but it is difficult for me to take beautiful　sky photo. I should make efforts to take good photos.

My sad badminton...

Yesterday, I took part in class of Kenko Kagaku(physical education).

I selected a badminton class with my friend, momoka, but she couldn't join this class because of another important class. So , I should atennd to the class only one.

Most of student in the class were freshman!! Now I am 3rd grade, so I felt lonely in the class yesterday:(
And I'm poor at badminton...

But doing badminton was very fun. I have loved badminton since 5~7 years old. I want to do badminton again.

Imari

Imari-gyuuu!!
After visited Karatsu castle, we went to restaurant for our lunch. We researched good steakhouse with Imari beef (famous beef brand), but that steakhouse was regular holyday. So instead of eat steak, we ate yakiniku (grilled sliced of meat) of Imari beef.
It was very good!! I will go Imari again to eat steak!! [54]

Kratsu castle

On second day, we visited Niji no matsubara(pine forest) and Kratsu castle. Pine forest was very heroic view! Then I dropped by souvenir shop, and I bought some souvenirs for friends of my part time job. I ate a cutlet of whale in the shop. I thought that taste was not very good for me.

After shopping, we visited Karatsu castle. It is smaller than Kumamoto Castle, but Karatsu Castle is great too. I saw a lot of exhibits. I like seeing historical exhibits.

Karatsu castle had interesting thing. It is elevator. It moved slant!! I was excited at the elevator!! [101]

Yobuko squid!

I traveled Saga prefecture on March 26-27 with my boyfriend. We went to Yobuko, Karatsu and Imari.

First, we visited Yobuko big bridge. When we arrived there, it was already dark.
The bridge was very big, and beautiful. I took some pictures of bridge.
Yobuko has very famous special product. It is squid. Of course, I ate it at restaurant. I ate ika-sasi(Sashimi of squid ), Tenpura of squid, ika-shaomai(shaomai of squid),uni-don(sea urchin on rice), sazae(turban shell) and others.　I enjoyed eating a lot of delicious food from sea!! Especially, I loved ika-sashi and ika- shaomai. I want to eat again.[101]

Now, I’m third year of Kumamoto Gakuen University. KGU is located in Kumamoto city of Kumamoto Prefecture. In my University, I learn about English.

I like English, but it is difficult for me to master. I want to learn English more in your country.
